Has anyone heard anything on this brass? I thought it was supposed to be avail last October? I sent an email to lapua, I hope they answer

I emailed em recently. They can't determine when it's going back into production, they basically said the demand has to be there to prioritise it. Been waiting for ages.

I got a email response back from Lapua June 13th. Pasted from email.

(The brass will not be available until sometime later this summer. Our Berger ammo is loaded with Lapua brass so that is one way to find it currently but the unprimed new brass will not be here until then.)
Thank you!

Capstone is controlling the brass flow. I've got a new Norma improved coming next month I have to get fireforming brass on. Figured buy 100rds I'd factory to fire form and speed the barrel up then begin load development.

Yeah and drop $85 a box just for the lapua brass..
Not F@$#!#_ worth it
I tried out the hornady 300 NM brass and it's surprisingly good

I think that's what's been holding up the release of brass only. They're making more money from ammunition than just brass so they're stalling on releasing the brass.

This is exactly what I stated, they are looking for the better, higher profit margins from loaded ammunition from Berger.

This is past the point at which we start working Peterson and ADG/Atlas to bring about the best American made brass we can. Capstone makes it obvious we are not their priority so let an American company provide the cases for us. Screw Lapua and Capstone. I don't hold Lapua up on a pedestal like some. We, as Americans, have proven we can produce brass just as good.

Unfortunately, Hornady brass is not up to the task. Maybe for low volume shooters but certainly not for professionals trying to work up loads for clients and competition.

Just buy Peterson, or ADG when it comes out. Sounds like Lapua just wants to make money off people, and doesn't actually care about the customer's opinion and wants. I'd rather buy American anyways

I get the buy American. But I will have to fire form the brass for 300 NM improved, and fire a 100 or so to settle the barrel. With 100 Berger load ammo I have $3.85 each and to buy the brass and components which I have purchased everything but brass I would have $3.00 a round, so for me to know I have everything I need and to not be waiting on somebody else to make a quality brass it's worth the $85.00 extra.

Personal opinion...

My opinion is if I'm going to have a $4,000 custom rifle and pushing the loads to max pressure for performance, I'm not going to toy around with anything but the best available brass on the market. Like I said I have fireforming to do and barrel break in so it's a win win for me. Your mileage may vary but if you're shooting anything with a Lapua bolt face, arguing about reloading costs seems to me like you're missing the point. You don't build guns on that platform for cost savings.
