Got it done this week!

After 5 days chasing bears spot and stalk in Idaho my buddy and I both got it done on the last day of the hunt. 405 yard shot with my 270wsm put it down. Spring bear hunting is a sweet deal isn't it? It kind of fills that gap in the year between coyote hunting and scouting for deer and elk.

Very nice. Info on your rifle & cartridge?

Congrats. My hunt didn't go as well. I grazed a cinnamon bear on the Montana side of the line.

Browning X-bolt medallion 270wsm with a 3-15x56 Leupy VX5HD. Shooting Hornady Precision Hunter with the 145gr eldx. I bought a box of this stuff when I bought the gun to sight it in with the intention of developing some handloads for it and it shot 1/2" groups, so I keep feeding it precision hunter ammo.

Well...nust have proved it a grizz....should have shot it too....
One less to contend with....

And you guys wishing for opportunities on bears....you ought to checkout southwestern Oregon....calls some guides...theres plenty up in the woods fo go around...plus the one living in city limits....might taste like cat food.......

Ditto . :)
Cat food. Lol !

Beautiful bear! How did the 145 work at 400 yds? Pass thru, recovery of bullet, blood trail?
I have 145's but am apprehensive to shoot them at high velocity out of my wsm. Guess I'm just worried about blow up and blood shot meat if I hit some under 150 yds. The 200 grain did great out of my 300 wm but that's 2980 fps not 3200. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks. And great job on the bear hunt!
