Currently there are lots of annealers on the market today. The DIY drill and torch, the fancy benchsource, and the high dollar induction style electric units. I was in the market and found Ballistic Recreations. Gary Chambers makes and sells salt bath kits for annealing. All you have to provide is a melting pot. It looks extremely legit and the nice part is the salt holds it temperature very well. I ordered one and should be here early next week.

Check it out for yourselves.

Thanks!

Jayson

I have his website bookmarked. I was going to order one back in December but after ordering everything for a custom I kind of gave myself the red light until its finished.

I've been using this method and Ballistic Recreations products for nearly a year now. I think the process is actually pretty fun and it seems to be very consistent. I would suggest ordering an extra container or two of the salt as you do lose some due to "drag out", but it's not bad.

The wife gave me a scowl as o was ordering my melter pot off amazon. I told her jewelry could be melted as well got scowled at again. No sense of humour.
Been there and have been given that look!! You are not alone!

I have a friend that has this set up, and he has quite a few rounds through it, as do I. The consistency and simplicity is amazing. I have some 223, 6.5cm, 6cm and 300 wm with it. All worked great. I had to leave the 300 wm in the salts just a split second longer than the 223 to get the same consistent result. Mine is on way!
