I have taken my wife out hunting different game a few times, she wasn't really into it - meaning she was ok to be there and we enjoyed hanging out together, but she wasn't wanting to take it serious enough to wake up early and hike in, or was more interested in documenting the experience on Instagram instead of looking for game...LOL. We decided it was OK to have separate hobbies. I haven't tried to get her into long range shooting - that will be my next goal. We'll see how it goes. How many of you out there are hunting with a significant other? What has your experience been with it?

My wife enjoys fishing when there's time; I'm bored to tears by it. I shoot when there's time; she could care less for it. The kids go fishing. In a few years I hope to take them shooting. If I use it as an excuse to hang with the kids hopefully I'll get more range time. Even if I'm not the trigger puller...

Nope. This is my interest and not hers so we are both happy with that.
wife and i have hunted together for 30 years off and on ,she isnt into it like i am but after learning what she likes ,its antelope hunting she is really good at it will stock for hours, and is very successful. she shot 1k bench rest with me for awhile but likes shooting the clay birds more than the targets, i think she would like the long range gong shooting too,its instant gratification that you can hear and see. she has taken elk deer antalope, now its just lope when we can draw a tag.

She's started to deer hunt with me and has harvested a few, but she is content with one or two deer hunts a year vs. I'll go hunt any time I have a free couple of hours. She grew up in a duck hunting family and loves to eat wild game (the only meat we buy is chicken) so she was excited to try it.

I've been trying to get her into long range shooting and she seems to enjoy that, but again wants to once a month and I'm there several times a week. It's fun when she's there but we are also ok having different passions.

My wife goes with me about every time. I only hunt a few coyotes but we shoot a lot. She really like the new 6mm Creedmore we built with a Proof barrel on a Tikka action. She takes head shots on our steel target at 640 on a regular basis. She can handle the elevation call out from me but struggles with the wind.

Melissa is my best friend and hunting/fishing and camping partner also my beloved wife.

My first wife didn't like hunting or anything that had guns involved,
How she kept this from me while we were dating I have no idea. 13 years of hell and two kids later she cheated and I got rid of that problem. I made up my mind then that any woman I dated that ever complained the first bit would be gone at the first negative word . I went through women like cash at Walmart until I met the wife I have now. She had never shot a firearm or been hunting, that has all changed she shoots every thing rifles, shotguns, archery and fishes too!
She is in my back pocket everywhere I go and I absolutely love having her there . My best friend she is . If I can only get her to clean everything she kills that would be Awesome!

Wife goes fishing, hunting, shooting with me 80% of the time. And that's actually going hunting with me as a hunting partner not a tag along. She has her own climbing stand and with few exceptions we split at the truck or along the trail to our own spots.
She loves to go shooting especially anything with a shotgun because she can kick my butt on a clays course. She shot her limit of doves before and in less shells than any of the guys in the field on opening day this year which I has yet to be lived down.
The first time I took her fishing played a big roll in me marrying her because she knew actually how to fish and was self sufficient.

My wife has gotten into hunting since getting married. She loves shooting predators, not as much into deer hunting, but she got a muley tag last fall and was keen, but I never had a deer found ahead of time and by the end of the season her competitive nature had her questioning my hunting practices that we hadn't found a decent one yet. Lol I think I ruined her expectations after filling my tag on the first day too many times.
Now she realizes how hard it can be to find a decent deer at times she's keen to do it again once the kids are older and we aren't relying on babysitters.
There's a lot of variations of hunting, my wife likes shooting so something with more shooting like coyotes, beavers, gophers, she really likes vs endless walking lol
