Hammer Hunter in 270?

They look good too. wonder how 145s and RL26 would do well together in a standard 1:10 270win
It would be worth a try, but I think case capacity will become an issue. Looking at Hodgdon data I would look to try imr4451. Shows good density and vel.

Steve, what would you suggest for an 8 twist 270 Weatherby?
Now you are talking! That is the twist that a 27 cal should be? I am assuming you ate shooting long range? You can shoot up to the 156g Hammer Hunter. I think that would be a great bullet for the 270 wby.

Sadly I don't have a chrony. :( I don't know where I'm at as far as velocity. I'm using 60gr of h4831 and Winchester primers. 22 inch barrel with a vg6 muzzle brake

Moderate meaning you're not likely to have any issues. You should get good case life, reliable performance, etc. A good family car kind of load.

H4831 is kind of the standard .270 load that everything else is judged against. When I loaded for my son in law this summer it's what I picked.

Remind me are you using the short cut version.
