Remington 700 long range vs sendaro

To me the sendero looks/feels much nicer but the long range, in my experience, shoots the same on average. All of which have been very respectable that I've loaded for. I wouldn't personally use the hs stock vs b&c stock as much of a selling point. I recently got a hs vertical grip for a Winchester I had built that is very soft and not near as durable as the older ones I've been around or the b&c stocks I have. I've got a McMillan on order for that rifle now to hopefully finish it off the way I should've done in the first place.

The OP would be lucky to get an older sendero. Those are very nice rifles. It's safe to say that if he bought new, the sendero would be stainless, fluted. That's just to help him differentiate the main differences between the sendero and the long range.

Not all Sendero's are fluted, and not all are stainless.
There are several variations.
Yes, we know, but he's talking about current production. It would be near impossible to get a brand new in box original Sendero (blued/non-fluted), as they stopped production somewhere around 1998. Everything since then, has been stainless and fluted (SF & SFII), except for a few special models offered to certain distributors like the black cerakoted & fluted model Sendero SF (can't remember who that was made for).

The OP referenced stainless barrels for a Sendaro. I think we all might be incorrectly assuming he meant a Sendero.

Jokes aside, based on the mention of a stainless version of the sendero, I think we can assume current production which means fluted as well, unless I missed something and they make a non-fluted stainless? I may have, I don't pretend to be an expert.

That assumption being made, what MudRunner2005 and others have said is accurate- Long Range is matte, rougher finish, heavy barrel B&C, bad trigger. All 700s have a bad trigger, so don't take that into your equation. Sendero SFII has stainless and flutes, and a jewelled bolt and fit/finish is better, and it has an HS stock. 5r is stainless, jewelled bolt, HS stock, better fit/finish, 5r rifling.

If it were me, and I have a 700 Long Range, I'd buy the 5r gen 1. I had to have my long range worked on because the chamber was rough and wouldn't eject a spent case. I like the stainless, too, and 5r is all the rage at the moment.

It didn't say "current production" or "new in the box" in the post I read.
It only said "Sendero".
When people are comparing 2 currently produced models, they're typically referring to the 2 currently produced models. For someone who tries so hard to make others look less intelligent, you're starting to leave doors wide open for people to walk right through... You're starting to slip from working so hard to come up with something, anything, to counter every one my comments. That means I'm already in your head, therefore, I've already won. ;)

I'm not sure how I weigh in on this. I have a 5r milspec, it a good gun, shoots like a **** replaced the stock and trigger.
I have a b&c stock, like it much better and it's stiff enough.
I guess there's a reason when I wanted a 6.5 creedmoor I didn't buy the 5rmilspec Gen ll.

IMO if it wasn't 700s no one would buy those weird hs precision stocks and crappy xmark triggers. (Sorry mud)

No need to apologize to me, I love the old HS stocks. And while I still think the HS Precision is a better quality stock than the B&C (personal opinion having owned many of each), I hate the new HS stocks with the incredible hulk sized palmswells. I have huge hands, and I still hate the palmswells on them. They also shortened the grip length and it stops in my palm before it ever even gets to my pinkie, like a subcompact pistol, without an extended grip. It's not a comfortable stock to shoot. Unfortunately, I have 3 of the newer ones. I need to sell them or trade them for something else.

I've said from the begging that the X-Mark triggers suck...I swap all of mine out.

Nope. There's nothing you can "win".

It just means you can't admit what I said was true, and you feel the need to "correct" anything that doesn't make you look like some sort of expert.

What I said is 100% factual. No more, no less.

Stating the simple facts isn't "fighting".
Trolling is something different though:

For someone who tries so hard to make others look less intelligent, you're starting to leave doors wide open for people to walk right through...
I can't make you look less intelligent.
That's beyond my control.
