Zombie Gun

What is your favorite zombie defense gun and why? How much ammo should one have? Does price matter?

Not sure what Zombie defense implies, but for home/community defense against individuals or groups, we have various AR's, M14/M1A's, shotguns, various long guns, and a few F/A's. Also, we are part of a prepared group with a fall back position that has pre-established weapons and ammo stashes.

It doesn't take a lot to defend oneself and family, so a few basic weapons with ammo will initially suffice. Especially if the attacking individual or group has their own weapons and ammo. Once those "zombies" are down and the area secure, simply go and pick up their supplies.

An AR or similar, one 420rd can of ammo, a shotgun with 50-100 rds of buckshot, and one handgun with 1-200 rds of ammo will suffice in the vast majority of cases. Add in a basic hunting rifle with scope and 100 rds, and as long as you stay alive long enough to use all that, you can hold off and drive away a lot of "zombies".

All the weapons and ammo in the world will not help you if you violate the first rule of a gun fight........Don't get shot.
I don't think the Zombies are gonna shoot him. I believe they'll try to eat him or convert him to one of "them". He needs some serious defense feedback here.

I'd go flamethrower personally.

I expect that other then the satisfaction of incrementally increasing the mass of a zombie by lead shots to the body, only a brain shot will bring down a zombie, preferably at long distance, very long distance.

One last thing, in case there could be any misinterpretation, my belief is that zombies are presently entirely fictional.

The island starts to feel a little small this time of year.... only place on earth cabin fever sets in during fall and not early spring.

Maybe the wife's mpx-k or 1301...

Huh - you've never been to California I take it... where the un-real becomes real.
