I am looking to sell or trade one of my LR hunting rifles. The rifle is a Rem 700 that was sent to the guys at Rock barrels to have the action worked and trued and one of their barrels installed. The round count on the rifle is less than 150 and probably closer to 100, but I'll call it 150 to be safe. Lots of life left in this barrel.
The barrel is a SS fluted sendero contour at 28" and was setup for 162 A-Maxs. The barrel could be cut to 26" if a guy wanted and you still wouldn't be in the flutes. The bolt was sent to Kamfeld and it was spiral fluted and a knob installed. It also has a fluted PTG firing pin. The bolt was then cerakoted matte black to match the action. The guys at Rock tested the gun with 162 A-AMaxs and it was a 1/2 MOA gun for them as well with them.
The stock is a McMillan HTG that I sent off to my smith to have flush cups mounted on the left side and SS studs installed. It has two studs up front and one in the rear. The whole stock was then cerakoted tan and red cerakote webbing was applied. He also added marine tex to the grip and forearm area to give it a more positive feel in the hands. He modeled the texture after a Manners EH-3 at my request.
I currently run Berger 168 VLD Hunting touching the lands in it at 3150fps with 1/4-3/8 MOA at 100 and 1/2 MOA on out. The bullets can be seated to touch the lands and still have plenty of room in the box to chase. I have seated at 0.015" jam into the lands and they will still fit into the mag box. This gun is a hammer and can reach out and touch some critters if you are so inclined.
I am looking to get $2000 out of this setup. I have approx 100 pieces of brass that I will include with the rifle. I can't get pics to post right now but if you send me a PM with your email I will be happy to email them out until I can get some pics loaded here. I am sure I have forgotten something so if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I haven't posted much here at LRH (more of a reader) but I have impeccable feedback on GunBroker, EBay, and 24HR Campfire all under the same user name as here if that will make anyone feel better. I am just trying to clear out some stuff to make room for more.
Thanks all.
