Working up .357 Mag load for Bears

What is your load for the 110? And yes the 586 is my favorite handgun of all that i have shot. Such a beautiful shooter. Love shooting 3" spinners at 100M.

13.5 grs H-110 with the 180 Hornnady XTP shoots pretty good. This is a MAX load. Yes I have killed deer out to a touch over 100 yards with the 357 mag but a deer AIN'T NO BEAR. Bear tend to scratch and bite when mad and unless you get a central nervous system hit or break major bones a bear can get pretty mad and do a bunch of scratching and biting on you.

Ill go get a pound and a box of the xtp's. Got a box of the .44 240's and a box of the 45 250 gns. They shoot pretty good.

I have worked 357 mag loads with 231.

The whole 357 mag historical load development was centered around easy case extraction.

The cases stick with 231 with fairly low power, but high pressure loads.

The best is H110/W296.
That really gets a lot of power before the cases stick, in a work up.
