Working up 1st 7PRC Load ... hmmm

Hornady's test barrel is 24", so I'd think you're in the ballpark with your speeds from a 20" barrel.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about velocity too much and would just go with the most accurate/consistent load.

I had good luck with 180 Hybrids and H4831sc. 65 grains was 2764 5 shot average with a 9.5 SD. Using 215m primers and ADG brass. With my shaking it still produced .60 MOA groups. Usually had two in one ragged hole and the third would always fly a bit. Shot good at distance when I got my head out of my @rse and moved the scope the right way. This was a tikka with a 22 inch proof carbon barrel. First 40 rounds through it today.
I haven't used my H4831sc powder in a long while. Had a clump the size of a golf ball in it. A quick stir and some shaking and it all ran through the RCBS pro and went bang

I'd be a bit curious as to what QL says about my 160 CX load, and if I was using H4831SC with the LRX vice the H1000? I don't have the SW, but was hoping someone might be able to give me some info.

If you want speed, either get a 24-26" or try some R23-R25-R26 or both. N560-565 also.
my 7ss shoots 160 Nosler's at 2995 with N565, and thats 100-150 below max, but 26"
You may have a slow barrel also. Get 100+ shots through it so it can hopefully speed up.

Some powders are still almost impossible to find. I found Retumbo and h1000 luckily to try out. Just need to swap over scopes to break in the new ridgeline.

Very good accuracy and groups out to 840 today with my above load

This was my best 3 shot group out of my Seekins PH2 in the testing I did today:

Hornady brass
Berger 175gr EH
64.2 gr H4831 SC
Federal 215 primer
2.658 to Ogive (2T off the lands)
2960 fps average

64.5 gr and 64.8 gr also turned in good results.

Everyone has a ton of data on non-mono metal. I am stuck with those. At this time, I will be sitting with the 160 CX @~3000 fps. My ES and SD are much larger than I'd like, so will work on that. But after zeroing today,

Everybody's going to get different data, shoot what shoots for the rifle, forget the complications created by this day and age. What works for one won't work for another. The great thing about reloading!

Didn't read most of the posts. Your numbers in your OP seemed low.
I shoot a 7LRM (7PRCs bigger brother). I tried Retumbo and H1000, and couldn't get acceptable accuracy out of it.
I'd have to go dig up my data, but I was super surprised (and pleased) to find that H4831 was pure gold in my gun.
To think I never tried it because I thought it was too fast... D'oh!

I know it's not the same but I put together a 7wsm using a Mack action and a 24" carbonsix barrel. Using 71 grains of magpro with a 175gr eldx it shoots 1/2" at 3040fps. It's the first time I've ever had a hand load shoot faster (90fps) than the book showed. Zero pressure signs
