Typically for me, this time of year, January-March, has been dedicated to large volume reloading for the coming warmer weather shooting and varmint seasons, and while some things may have changed somewhat due to shortages, price increases, etc, I still enjoy large quantities of components that were purchased through the years and casting a lot of lead handgun and some rifle bullets.

So, I have been pumping out a lot of 20P, 222, 223, 22-250 and AI for the coming prairie dog, other varmint and fun shoots, and in lesser amounts, 243, 6mm and 25-06 for some longer shots or larger varmints and game. Along with the rifle rounds, the Dillions have been cranking out bulk 9mm, 38Super, 9x23Win, 38Sp, 357, 44Sp, 44Mag, 45ACP and 45LC.

While not much now due to various reasons, I also used this time of year to load several thousands of shot shells for skeet and trap seasons and the fall dove shoots.

Anyone else use this time of year to "bulk load" for the coming warmer weather?

Yup

When I lived in SC, I came a cross a screaming deal on used 7.62 & 5.56 brass. I used the winter of 22-23 when I was in between jobs to clean and process thousands of rounds. It was helpful to keep my mind of being unemployed.
Glad it helped keep you sane.

Many years ago, I located a dealer listing in the old Shotgun News, and he was selling all Federal 223 brass that was picked up and sorted from a local indoor FBI and Police range. That brass was selling for $20 per 1K, and he had LC 5.56 for $10 per 1K. The Federal was very clean and ready to use, but the 5.56 was from outdoor ranges and needed a little washing.

He also had Federal nickel plated 38 Sp. standard and +P for $10 per 1K if purchased in 5K lots, and the nickel 357 mag was $15 per 1K also in 5K lots. I purchased a few boxes of all the above.

Now and after a few more decades of policing brass from a few heavily used outdoor ranges, I have more brass than I, and a few more people, can ever use.

Some loading, but alot of brass prep getting everything that was shot in prep for the hunting seasons processed and segregated by rifle and firing lot. On stretches like we're in now with highs below zero, it's great inside work that I hate doing when it's nice out.
