Talley makes ring/ mounts that use 8-40 screws. but it's not Weaver style. https://www.talleymanufacturing.com...ope-mounts-860-standard-caliber-short-action/
I have a friend who has always come up with every type mount I've ever needed & I think that his main source is Cheaper Than Dirt.
Check out EGW for the bases you want and see if you can get them in the #8 x 40 you are looking for . I know you can order them with those screw size for Rem.700's .
