I hunt almost exclusively in Georgia now. My kids pretty much come once a year each. I wish they came more. My son hasn't hunted much in a few years. He killed his last deer 3 years ago. The bug just hasn't hit him. My daughter just got going 2 years ago. My dad can't hunt any more, but he killed his last few deer with me. His best one is pictured. The kids killed 5 deer amongst them. I kill one buck a year by choice and a few does.

Here are a few of the animals.

I also hunt in Georgia on a lease that is well managed. We (most members) are picky about the 2 "8" pointers allowed as we try to let them mature. Per farmer on land we must take a minimum of 6 does each year. My son comes with me 1-2 times per year and wishes for more but 2 young children, working in this economy, etc makes it difficult. Living in north Florida, hog hunting is abundant but I only shoot a few each year to mix with venison. I would shoot more but I hate gutting and skinning them.

I am central and eastern NC for deer, turkey, migratory and of course big bears down east.

If you have too many deer and no hunters, I am happy to make the road trip, just need directions and an invite.

Well, I am a transplant. Moved from Hawaii to here in GA 27 years ago. I had a log cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains over looking Carters Lake and currently located in the Country back roads of Social Circle, GA. You have to hear the story behind the town's name of Social Circle.
GA has everything from Squirrels to big Black Bear. Also some Quail hunting but very sparce.
GA was once noted to be the "Bird Dog Capital of the World". If you ever ran Field Trials off of Horseback anywhere in the World back in the 70s & 80s the dream was to Run your Bird Dogs in Georgia USA. English Pointers & English Pointers were the BEST.
Prices for a good Pup to an adult were from $10k to $100s of thousands. (in the 80s price)
I had a Pup that we won the North East Region Puppy of the Year back in the 80s - Ramblin Gambler!
Most of all the Quail hunting here in the SE is gone except for the few that can afford to Hunt on the Plantations.
Now talking of the SE United States. You have the best of everything. Deer, Bear, Turkey, Hogs, Yotes small game , Bird Hunting and then there is FISHING!!! some of the best Fresh Water and then Coastal Salt Water in the WORLD!!!!
NC, SC, FL, GA. AL - These five States have the best of every hunting and fishing opportunities.
PLUS most of us are Conservatives and we believe in "GOD, FAMILY, COUNTY".
A Bible on every Nightstand and a Firearm in every room and vehicle!

I've taken a couple nice deer in Georgia, my brother owns 140 acres in the suburbs of Sparta. My son got transferred from Pearl Harbor (Tripler Hospital) to Ft. Gorden, finishing up his hitch as a Captain and going to stay on in Evans. Georgia is beautiful country no doubt. I grew up in south Florida but have been in Texas since 1980, we have a bit of everything here too.
