Which piece to grind down, magazine or mag release?

Just got my new HS-Precision stock, bottom metal and a mag from one of us here on the forums, taken off a .338. Everything fits up fine on my 30-06, except the mag won't seat in the catch once everything is bolted up (it does indeed seat and stay in the empty stock).

Should I be attempting to remove and grind down the mag release or the magazine lips on each end of the mag so it will seat far enough up into the gun?

Any help would be appreciated,
