Which mag box?

Hello all,

I'm looking at doing an extended Wyatts (or similar) on a .338 RUM and wondering on bottom metal.
I'd like to stay with a BDL type but as long as it's flush mount, I'd consider others.

What are you all using? Pros and cons of each?

I used Hawkins Obendorf on a 300 RUM and a 308 win. Both actions have been cut to fit Wyatts boxes.. It was the easy button to find when I purchased. Not sure what others are out there, but this was no research, just purchase, FWIW.

Hawkins M5 BDL with a CFE-9 box.
But you will have to load it from the bottom which is a bit of an annoyance.

Please excuse my ignorance, but if you have an extended box why the need to load it from the bottom?

The mag box I mentioned is a center feed design. There isn't enough load port length to load from the top.
