Unfortunately, I'm from one of the sickening blue states in the east, NJ. Currently looking at property in eastern TN maybe around Knoxville. Looking for at least 50 acres moderately close to civilization where I can sit on my back deck and shoot (respecting time of day/neighbors, etc.) and make my property enticing to turkeys and deer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone on this forum, it's great to be in a place where there is actually good advice and lot's of great knowledge and experience.

Middle Tennessee here. There are quite a few places in Middle and East Tennessee that will fit your ideal location. For example, my driveway is over a half mile long and my nearest "neighbors" are a Mennonite family nearly a mile away if you cut through the woods and across the fields lol! I'm plenty isolated and can (and do) shoot all I want any time I want but I can be in Murfreesboro in just over 30 minutes and can be in either Nashville or Chattanooga in about an hour.

In East Tennessee you could look at the property along Highway 127 from Dunlap to Jamestown. You have the Tennessee River, Watts Bar lake, Catoosa Wildlife Management Area, etc all within a reasonably short drive, property values are reasonable, and low crime rates compared to the areas closer to the big cities. You'll still be reasonably close to Knoxville and/or Chattanooga depending on whether your at the North or South end of 127.
