Ok I purchased some reloading stuff off a buddy who got it from someone else and so on. There were about 200 loaded cases that say 6.5x5.5 which is a .264 bullet diameter. Well something looked a little bigger. Measured the bullet and it's a 308. Necked up from a .264 hmm. And it also looks like the shoulder is more rounded like an ackley. Anyone know what he was doing. And the case has about a .030 taper on it as well.

Good job noticing the the diameter discrepancy. Another reason to never shoot someone else's reloads. I did a little hunting on the net and found some posts about reforming 6.5x55 to 7.5x54 French and 7.5x55 Swiss. You might have to get out the reloading manual and calipers to do some measuring. Turns out there are a LOT of calibers I've never heard of. It was a good little education for me.
