I was given a weatherby vanguard action that was chambered for .338 Win Mag. I want to rebarrel it to 375 Ruger.
Is this a good idea? Has anybody done this and if so, any problems?
I know Howa have a 375 Ruger in their lineup and the Howa and Vanguard actions are essentially the same. The 338 win mag has a max pressure of 65 000 psi whereas the 375 Ruger is only 62 000 psi.
The rim diameter and case length are the same, so the 375 Ruger will fit the action.
