weatherby stock question

i just recieved a 257 weatherby mag and want to changestocks , it is a older vangaurd, do i need any long action or a long action for mag calibers, thanks , im looking at the boyds lam. stocks and then bedding it, any info appreciated

I only see long action or short action for Vanguard available on the Boyds website.

You need the long action.

I have a bunch of Vanguards. Two 257s included. The Boyds' long action is what you need. The magnum is no different. The Prairie Hunter is a lot like a Weatherby stock in profile and feel. I prefer that style to the JRS. The laminates are really nice if a person is so inclined.
