Let me start out by saying I am new to the world of suppressors.
I just received my first centerfire suppressor. It is a Rugged Razor. I bought it primarily to use on my Remington 700 300 WM. My 300 already has a threaded barrel.

My question is I have a .257 that I use primarily for white tail and pronghorn. I would like to hunt with the suppressor. So do I have someone thread my barrel on the .257 or do I have it rebarreled with a threaded barrel? I assume the barrel has to be removed from the gun to be threaded.

I guess I could have the factory barrel threaded and see if that affects it's accuracy. If it does, then buy a new barrel.

Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

What thread pitch is your can? If it's 5/8-24 you may not have enough meat on your 257 barrel to thread it, or you could thread it smaller and use an adapter.

Suppressor worked great! This was on my 300 WM.
I had threaded my 22-250. Need to have the others threaded now.

Warning! This thread is more than 4 years ago old.
It's likely that no further discussion is required, in which case we recommend starting a new thread. If however you feel your response is required you can still do so.
