I have a friend who has a Pair of Vortex Razor PRE HD 10x50 or 10x42 (he did quite remember) binos and he said he would give them to me for $175 but the only kicker is that they have some moisture in them and will need to be sent back to Vortex to get fixed. I am currently using a pair of Steiner Predator C5 10x42. My question is, are the Razor non HD's that much better in quality and how is the price and all with the Razors sound. I haven't found much at all on the Razors pre HD. How is dealing with the vortex warrantee as well? Thanks for any and all input!

Do you need or want an extra pair of binos? The price sounds good but I cannot comment as to whether or not they are better than your current binos. I would compare them side by side at dusk. At that price I am sure they are better than the diamondbacks that can be had for 150-220 new.
Check ebay for their value or even call nycameraland and see what they say. Get them fixed and sell them. Make a deal w/ your friend, you send them back if you like them buy them, if you don't he can sell'm to someone else fixed. You'd only be out a few bucks for shipping.
