I just recieved my Viper Vortex PST FFP 4-16x50 MOA. I first ordered this in early February from Optics Planet. I was on backorder for a long time and they could never give me an honest answer as to what to expect. To their credit, I think this is a problem most stores are facing right now with this scope. About 2 to 3 weeks ago i called Camera Land and they said they have a good dialog with Vortex and they have been getting semi-regular shipments of scopes from Vortex. They put my name on a list and promised they would call me when my scope was due to ship. They never took my credit card info, just simply my telephone number. I have to be honest, I didn't expect to hear from them anytime soon.

Flash forward two or three weeks, I received a call from Neil at Camera Land saying they were expecting my scope within a day or two. I had to tell him yes or now almost immediately and give hime my credit card info (bet you can guess my answer...YES). I then received my scope within days and much to my surprise he put a free t-shirt logo'd with Vortex and Camera Land and a similar hat! Also, he included a $50 gift card to camera land for a future purchase. I immediately ordered the Vortex Bubble Level for my scope and they overnighted the bubble level.

I have to say, I typically don't write these type of reviews but this company went way above and beyond to make a first time customer happy...and it worked!

By the way, not to discredit Optics Planet, but I did call up to cancel my order with them and asked when they would be expecting the Viper PST in I originally ordered, they told me they had no idea but their next shipment was not scheduled until early to Mid-April.

This experience in no way would keep me from doing business with Optics Planet in the future but I will definitely be doing business with CameraLand again!

Bottom line, if you are looking for this hard to find scope, I would recommend calling and asking for Neil at Camer Land and getting on their list.

Just my two cents

I meant to title this Vortex Viper instead of Viper Vortex...sorry, but I think all of you will understand what I was trying to say.

The guys at cameraland are top notch. I had an issue with some binoculars and they went above and beyond to take care of me and swap me out another pair of binos. Most any other company would not have done that. Defintely give them a chance of you are looking for optics.

Thanks for posting and I will say I have delt with Cameraland and know several others who have as well and they are top notch! I also recieved some extra goodies when I ordered a rangefinder from them.

You are welcome. They also gave me some free goodies like a hat.

How is that Viper scope? I have heard greaat things and most likely ordering one. Not the PST though. Cant afford that one right now.

I have only taken it out of the box but have yet to mount it to my rifle.

I will let you all know how the scope is soon but first impression are of a rock solid scope with pretty darn clear glass. I am excited to get it on my 300 RUM.

I too ordered a Vortex Viper Pst FFP from camera land in feb and got it this past friday. They gave me a bunch of goodies too. I was emailing Doug at camera land back and forth for the past 2 weeks being impatient but he was very helpful and answered all questions honestly. I will definitely be buying from them again.

I've ordered quite a bit of stuff from them and always had the same experience. The brothers at Cameraland are great to deal with but they also have a camera salesman there that is one of the funniest people I have ever talked to. He is Polish and if anyone thinks they have a hard last name to say and or spell, I can promise you, you got nothin on this guy but he is freaking hysterical!!!
