I clearly remember looking into a bottle and noticing a slight yellow hase on the powder and it had a acidic smell. This was about 38 years ago. I'm sure it has been corrected by the manufacturer and not to worry any longer. I personally continue using the most common brands IMR etc.

going on the vv site just click on powders and it'll state energy for each version. i haven't check other brands for this info

the 100 series is more of a high volume lower energy/heat compared to the 500 series. i have some 160 and 165 to try, but will yield 100-150 fps less than the 500's will at max pressures.

I wish they would have more cartridges listed. No 7saum, 264wm, 300saum or 22br not to mention 6dash

i know this is a little off subject, but since berger will email you data for free then they should just have it available online for ALL cartridges they listed in #1 and more.
