I have shot Rem 700's for many years and it is amazing at how many or these rifles will shoot very similar loads with just minor tinkering.
We have killed many Eastern White tails with the following load:

150g Sierra BT., 150g Nosler Ballistic tip, or 154g Hornady
Spt flat base, SST, or interlock

We have had several deer run off with the 140g Sierra, just too soft a bullet, it is really amazing at how much better the 150g sierra bullet acts on deer, but would not recommend it for elk or hogs, unlike the 154g Hornady SP.
A friend has probably taken 20+ deer with the 140g Barnes tripple shock with this load in 3 or more Rem 7 Mags. I have cleaned several of the deer and the damage is MASSIVE, but often there is little blood loss. This bullet seems to shoot through brush and weeds better than any bullet he has tried. He intentionally tries to cull does by shooting through brushes, etc to see the effect on the bullet. He swears by this bullet as a brush buster. This guy has kills 15+ deer a year, and is not a BS artist, so I tend to believe him. I do not believe in shooting through brush if it can be helped.
