I bought a Tikka t3x ctr stainless steel with the 24" barrel in 6.5 cm. Put on a little bastard brake, harris bipod and a cheap vortex 4-16 hslr scope I've had laying around. Bought a box of 129 gr nosler able and a box of 147 eldm's. Did an ocw test with both at mag length, not sure how far jump they are. Loaded them with rl16, hornady brass and fed 215 primers since I have 1k of them and can't find any primers anywhere. The noslers shot around 1moa at 200 yards which I wasn't super surprised by and the eldm's were right of the bat 1/2 moa on all charge weights basically. I had one group that went .367 moa. So I chose a node I thought would be good and loaded up 25 at 41.8 gr. (2720fps) Took it out and zeroed it and then shot this 5 shot group at 713 yards this morning. This group is right at .48 moa. It was even slightly breezy and the mirage was picking up. Needless to say I'm very happy with the performance of this factory rifle! I really feel tikka got this one right I can't wait to go shoot a deer with it.

Congrats! The tikkas sure shoot. The CTR is a great rifle footprint. I think they'd do well to release it in every cartridge they offer. 6.5 prc would honestly fly off the shelves. My 24" superlite will shoot similarly as long you keep it cool. I'm running lapua lrp brass, CCI250, 48.6 rl26 and 140 Bergers, pushing them @ 2880fps. No signs of pressure.

Sounds right. My ctr consistently shoots .5-.6 with factory 147 eldm. At this point I don't even "waste" primers reloading for it if it's going to shoot that well with box ammo.

I've got some Rl26 I've thought about trying out. I may need to!

You'll be surprised. With my 24" barrel in Hornady brass with RL26 I was able to reach 2980 w/o ejector or bolt lift. But the brass is just too inconsistent. The lapua lrp is great but looses 1.5gr capacity, however it handles pressure better. 49gr rl26 w/ a 16" drop tube is all I can get in there and it's a lil compressed, that load never showed pressure either.

Hows the accuracy with the velocity up there with rl26? That's pretty crazy. That's prc velocity in the cm. I know that it's been done several times by others as well.

It's usually around half moa. This is a Tikka superlite with a wildcat stock, light scope, weighs 7.2# all up. Not the easiest to shoot long range. I would limit myself to 500y in game with it.

My Tikka shoots 650 yards consistently with a hold over scope. I can get out to a 1000yd if I had a a dial scope. Not bad for a hunting rifle... with boxed ammo.

Not in the least bit suprised! You want to shoot flies at 200 + get a Tikka or Sako!

I'd love to see a pic of this one. How do you like your Wildcat?
Sorry to hijack your thread OP.
I'll try get some when I get the rifle back. Having a small brake added at the moment. It's a good stock for sporting purposes. Comb is a bit low, have to keep objective small and rings low. I'm used to vertical grips, and this is swept so thats something I'm adjusting to. Stupid light tho!

Was there a question of just bragging? 😆😆

2980fps with 147gr ELDMs?! That is incredible!
