You can download a 300WSM to 308 velocities. but you can't upload a 308 to 300WSM velocities. I'd keep the 300WSM. Anything that you might take with a .308, you've already got covered with the Suam or Creedmoor.

Three different purposes. Same caliber.

1) hunting setup
2) target shooting configuration
3) home defense carbine, like AR-10, etc.

I stick to 4 CF calibers for what I would ever do. 222 & 223 Rem. 6.5 CM & 308 Win.

I also have long guns in 357/38 & 10mm

The 222 bolt gun was purchased from an elderly neighbor that did not use it anymore. I have since bought a pump action Troy AR in that caliber (with a 223 upper for it as well)

I personally would get rid of the .308, keep the other three (maybe even ditch the 6.5CM), and add something for varmints in 0.224 (223Rem, 22Nos).

Keep 1 and 3. Find a factory load for 308 that #3 shoots well. Take the money from 2 and 4 and build a fully adjustable range rifle that your kid can shoot too… I'd build it in 22 creed for good brass availability.

I guess I left this part out but I was planning on taking rifles 1 and 2 and converting them to 308.

My Saum is on an origin action and it shoots very well. They are all under moa rifles with the Tikka being the most accurate.

This is a terrible idea.

Keep the 7SAUM for hunting.
Keep the 6.5CM for hunting/shooting a lot.

Sell 3 & 4 and invest the $$$ in more reloading components or high end glass.

If i were downsizing to 30 caliber only, I would go to the 30-06 Springfield…a bit more velocity and power than 308 Win. If you get bored after a while (and you enjoy reloading), try out the 30-06 Ackley Improved (AI) for a change. Opinions will vary on whether the 30-06 AI is a worthwhile endeavor, but that is a personal preference

IMHO I would dump the 7 SAUM and the 308 and keep the 6.5cm and 300wsm. The wsm will do everything the 308 can do but better and the 6.5cm is a pleasure to shoot, accurate and has plenty of oomph for deer and antelope and is also great rifle for kids to shoot too because of the moderate recoil.

Yes. Years ago you could have had a 350 c.i. small block Chevy engine in each of those vehicles. Ideally the engines would not have been configured the same, just like cartridges can be changed with differing primers, gunpowders and projectiles.

Each to their own, but personally, I don't think I could ever sell down my sizable rifle collection to just 4 guns/calibers/cartridges. Not to mention all the handguns and cartridges. However, there have been times I have played the idea in my head that if I just had to size down to 6 firearms and moved into an off grid cabin what calibers and firearms would I choose.

The ones you have the most ammo for! Decision made easier!

The issue with the 300wsm is that it isn't threaded nor do I care to attempt to thread the barrel. I pretty much only shoot suppressed anymore.

The only reason I might keep a .308 is because you can't shoot the barrel out. Guys have often reported getting 5,000-6,000, or more, rounds before accuracy goes south.

I don't think you can go wrong with 308, IMO, and I'm building a lightweight 300 WSM, but looking for a traditional wood stock, all original. Does your Model 70 have a wood stock, or is it synthetic?
