Thermal scope, which one?

What would be a good brand/model thermal rifle scope for use on coyotes to 200yds. I don't have a big budget but I also would prefer to spend a little more if the cost is justifiable. Let's say $500-$2,000 complete as a guide. Thank you.

AGMRattler v2 35x384 is all you need. you can spend more and you can spend less I've done both ,the one mentioned above is all you need.

2k doesn't by much for a decent thermal. I have 2 640's, and iray & an agm. Really for that price, id steer you towards an agm spectrum nv with lrf. 1,000 bucks and a fantastic scope, pair it with a good scanner like a nocpix lumi h35 and your set.

you're needing to up it beyond $5k unless you're using it under 200 yards then a $3k and less is fine. might look for a clip-on as they can be cheaper. it uses the daytime optic (usually from 1x-4x mags). require no zero as the daytime optic is already zeroed. i have those in nv and thermals. i prefer the nv.

it can be done in a few ways like below

both nv and thermals can do this. most clip-ons recommend (thermals) no more than a 4x (not zoomed above or bottom magnification used) and nv can go up to 12x on your daylight optic. clip-ons need (some if you don't have enough rail space) and adapter to fit the optics objective to the cip-ons ocular. some offer a rubber that slips on the ocular with a bell/cone shaped piece that's flexible enough to fit on the objective. you can use then w/o it tho.

I have little experience with thermals so take this with a grain of salt. Picked up an AGM Clarion 384. Can switch between lenses (25 and 50), good base mag for scanning, then can switch to 50 lens with higher base mag without losing resolution. These can be had for roughly $2300, so slightly above budget. I can send a few vids from last years hunt if interested.

Armasight brand is what i have the most in, but do have 1 atn that was low cost. You can day sight it then turn on thermal iirc.

To be completely unbiased, the ThermNight scopes can be found for $1100 or so, and many give good reviews of them. They provide both thermal and NV imagery. The reviews I've read indicate, using thermal to spot a prospective target, then switching to NV to positively identify and execute the shot.

But, we're back to the original problem of needing a scanner, preferably thermal, to pinpoint heat sources/targets withoutbtrying to constantly sweep with your rifle/scope. So, it's $1100 for a ThermNight, or $500-700 for a DNT NV scope, or something similar, and a scanning device for a minimum...
