I have a takeoff Savage Arms barrel from my model 12. It has less than 100 rounds down the barrel, 1 box of PPU soft points and I am currently half way through my 3rd box of Hornady Superformance 95gr SST bullets.
It comes off a model 12 LPV, so the most expensive 243 Win model that Savage makes. I have only fired 95gr SST's and 100gr soft nose hunting bullets through it. Savage does not offer more suitable twist rate for shooting heavier VLD's so I had to go with a Shilen that I have just installed.
It is fluted and has a recessed target crown. The muzzle itself has a single scuff mark on it, but it does not affect function because of the recessed target crown. Weight is listed as 4lb. It is a single taper from 1.06" to a 0.80" muzzle.
Here are some pics I'm asking $180 + $20 shipping to the lower 48 states in a barrel tube. It comes with the original nut.
