I want to set up my Savage 112 BVSS Rem 7 mag to shoot .233 Rem. I know, I know, but I'm poor or ah, frugal. Anyway, I have a newer Accutrigger center feed type bolt and the .223 bolt face from the short action is not supposed to fit. That is kinda a show stopper for the cheap shooting plan. Anyone know what is possible here?lightbulb

For openers, you can change the bolt face to a .384" diameter which will accept the .223. The BVSS is a single shot, so feeding should not be an issue, but I am not a gunsmith and some one else has to answer that. The beauty of a Savage is that you can alternate these components to suit whatever caliber you want.

When changing Savage (or any other) barrel, be sure to use go and no go guages to be absolutely certain your headspace is spot on.
