Savage Switch Barrel

So I've been thinking about this one for a while and want to know how hard it would be. I have a savage model 10 police that is in 223 I want to make it a switch barrel to 308. What all do I need besides the obvious Barrel and new bolt or is it even possible, or should I just buy a stevens action and go from there?

Easy switch.

Just need to swap the parts. Barrel, bolt head, and magazine.

Thanks Gear I've never done this before but if I did do the switch barrel will I be able to keep the 223 barrel so I could shoot 308 during deer season and 223 during varmint seasons/rest of the year. Could I change it out myself or would I have to get a gunsmith to change it out every time and headspace it?

You can do it.

You'll need an action wrench and a nut wrench along with headspace gauges.

Once you've done it a couple times, you'll get really quick at it.

Hey i got a savage question... 308 10fp all i could get my hands on were hornady 150gr sst im loading with varget ... Charge weight anybody?
