Okay gentlemen, I don't post or respond often, but this is exactly the group I've been wanting to confer with.
I can get the Steiner 15x56 new through experticity for around $850.
I've never looked through either brand, only my old trusty nikons.
Is there a significant advantage to Swarovski over the Steiner?
I'm on a new bean field lease in the river bottoms now where glassing out to a mile and a half is common. But mainly, I glass bucks out to a reasonable range 500-700 yards and I'm in Texas in a 13" inside spread rule county.
I realize wider deer are easily spotted, but I like to study tine Length, mass, etc and the nikons just don't cut it anymore.
My wife and I are both public school teachers with two in college so when I told her I was thinking about spending $2200 on binoculars, she turned over in her rocking chair.
I wish I'd of gotten these but too far down the line.
Please give good advise to a poor ole Texas boy wanting to see better.
thanks
