Suppressors

I have a question about suppressors. I've noticed that my 30cal suppressor when used on smaller calibers is louder. Are there end caps that can be swapped out to match smaller calibers available? Is this something that someone has tried to help suppressing all the calibers smaller the the suppressor original caliber? If so, which companies supply different end caps for this purpose? Appreciate all inputs.

Endcaps make a minimal difference. If the whole can was for a .264 then it would make a more noticeable difference.

The thru bore especially makes a difference on reflex cans, like 4 decibels on a 6.5 creed on a .308 can vs a 6.5 can.

I run my Thunder Beast 338ultra on a 6.5 Lapua it sounds like a Pneumatic air nailer going off, not practically louder, but a different kind of sound for sure.

It would depend on design, if smaller calibers would perform like the intended can size. 30 cal= 30 cal caliber.

My .338 ultra performs perfect on my 30 cal calibers, haven't tested it on anything smaller. My old P30 TVAC does fine on anything smaller

I run 30cal cans on everything from 22GT to 300PRC, including a lot of rifles a 6.5mm can would work fine on.
I do have two 6.5mm cans. I run them on .257 & 6.5mm rifles. But I think suppressor design and round count makes more of a difference in sound that can caliber designation.

I don't have any duplicate cans in 6.5mm and 308, however, so I cannot test my statement.
My 6.5mm cans are both TBAC Ultra 7s, a gen 1 and a gen 2. I kept both my U7s as 6.5mm, so I don't do something stupid like screw a 6.5mm can on a 7mm or 308 cal rifle.
My 308 cans are all TBAC as well, an Ultra 9, Dominus, and Magnus K.

Can you give some clarification as to the "louder on smaller caliber" statement? Do you have a 6.5mm and 308cal can in the same model, and the 6.5mm version is quieter than the .308 version on the same rifle? Or are you talking like a 26 Nosler is louder than a 30 Nosler? Or .243 Win is louder than .308 Win? I can't see more than a few decibels difference, and hearing the difference between 131db and 129db is impressive.

How can you tell? You must have acute hearing. There is no way for me to know without sensors to measure it.

I do similarly from .223/5.56, 6.5 CM, .257 WBY, .270 AI, 300 WSM/WM/LARA, etc.

It just seems so from using it with the 308 compared to the 25CM. The CM seem to have more of a Crack than the 308 or 30.06. I'm thinking the reduced size of the caliber causes that.

What are your velocities between the 25CM and 308 Win?
Also could be barrel length, powder burn rate, pressure, etc.

"My" ears are NOT calibrated to tell minor differences in noise levels.

Don't have any smaller cans than 308. Looking at the TBAC Ultra 7 for possible use with the 6.5 and 25 calibers. Gonna have to move quick as the demand is about to double.
