Really not sure what it is or how it occurred. I bought 2 boxes of Federal 280ai awhile back and finally got around to putting some lead down range. After shooting some I picked up and inspected the brass only to find crease/wrinkle/bulge near the case mouth on one of the cases. After inspection I found one additional unfired round that had a similar deformity though less obvious. Anybody know what or how it occurred? The brass is nickel plated, is it likely that I damaged the chamber by firing the deformed case? The other cases and unfired rounds are all as one would expect, I know QC can be tough but 2 out of 40 a lot in my mind.

Agreed. Aside: nickel plated brass sucks. Its great for a service revolver on an officer who never shoots. And that's the end.
