Steiner H6xi

Wilkup,

I have had both. I had a NX8 2.5-20. There was no doubt you could use it to hammer your tent stakes in and then go hunt with it, but for my eyes it lacked optically. I could never set the parallax perfect for my eyes.

I now have the Steiner H6Xi 2-12 (wanted the 3-18 but found a deal I couldn't pass up). Tracking is spot on, zero stop is easy to set (don't tighten the set screw past finger tight or it will stop one click short) and zero complaints optically. My first outing with it, I zeroed it and than immediately went out to 700 yards with first round impacts. I love the scope and plan on getting the 3-18 for a different rifle this year.

Hope that helps. If you want something more specific let me know

I purchased the H6Xi 3-18x50 on EuroOptics a few months ago and I put it on a 300wsm. The glass seems a little nicer than my Leica Amplus 6i 2.5-15x50. I did notice chromatic aberration at high magnification. It was not terrible, I have not seen chromatic aberration on the Leica. Both scopes so far have had no issues dialing and returning to zero. The Leica on my Seekins 6.5 prc I have 16 mils remaining. The Steiner on a Aero Solus 300wsm I have around 9.5 mils.

I used a 3-18 in a hunter games match earlier this year and it performed flawlessly and gave me my best match ever. It's my favorite scope, just wish there was more than one revolution of elevation available. Yes I shot skills but it saved me $25 and there's no prize walk at games matches and doesn't change the work the scope has to do.
