For sale is a Rem 700 Stainless 308 24" standard sporter in a Stocky's laminated stock with Limb Saver pad. This was a new donor action that was re-barreled with a new take-off 308 factory barrel that was hand-picked from a batch of 8. The action was not trued nor were the lugs lapped. Simple head-space and shoot. This was for a temporary back-up for a hunting trip and was never needed. It has had 24 break-in rounds of Hornady factory ammo - Superformance 150SST's & Custom 150SST's - down the tube and shoots fairly well. The Superformance averaged right at 3010fps but grouped from 1.2 to 1.5 inches. The Custom averaged 2820fps and grouped from 0.596 - 0.847inches. I'm sure it would respond well to handloading. Stock had been skim-bedded at the front receiver ring/lug and the rear tang - barrel channel completely free-floated. Shown with a newly mounted Sightron S-II 3x9, mounted in lapped Leupold rings and bases. Buyer must have FFL dealer who will accept shipment from a private owner - I will furnish two forms of picture ID to dealer prior to shipment. Shipment will be USPS Priority Mail - Insured - Signature Required and cost will be determined at time of sale. Prefer payment by PayPal or USPS Money Order.
