Re: FS Remington 700 17 Rem BDL/Classic

Would you trade for a new sps 17fireball with redding dies?

Re: FS Remington 700 17 Rem BDL/Classic

That would be a REAL good one but I need to sell it to cover a new Nightforce scope.

Re: FS Remington 700 17 Rem BDL/Classic

Can you tell me the date of manufacture and the length of the barrel?

Did you ever reload for it or did you just use factory ammo?

What type of groups did it shoot?

How often between rounds did you clean the barrel?

It's a very nice rifle.

Thank You
Elliot

Re: FS Remington 700 17 Rem BDL/Classic

I would say late 1990's or early 2000's but that would be a guess on manufacture.
I have always reloaded for mine with Varget and 25gr Bergers.
I would say I clean mine every 50-100 rounds.
I don't buy and could never be sold that you have to clean a 17Rem every 10 shots or you wouldn't be able to hit a barn door, which was a popular tale about this round. I have had many and they all shoot sub-minute groups at 100.
This particular rifle hasn't been used much as I purchased it as a backup.
The 17 Rem is my favorite coyote calling rifle, as it fast and will put a coyote down faster than almost anything else I have used. And if you skin them out they don't leave any visible sign of entry and rarely exit.
Absolutely no recoil, muzzle blast is minimal.

IS THAT THE FACTORY STOCK gun)

Re: FS Remington 700 17 Rem BDL/Classic

Yes that is the stock I purchased it with.
