Looking for some suggestions for a short torso pack for my son. He is 5'8" and about 125 lbs, 28" waist. I purchase an Alps outdoorz commander and it is just too big for him. It doesn't have enough adjustment room. We found out the hard way after 16 miles and two bulls. Please advise on a decent price (under 300.00) pack that would get a load hauled while actually fitting him. I included a couple of picture before and after his pack loaded. Thank you in advance.

I'm of similar height and have a short torso. Mystery ranch packs fit me really well. I have a terraplane that I couldn't ask to fit and haul any better. I think I paid $150 on a clearance sale. I also have a couple of eberlestock packs that fit really well. When they are empty, I much prefer the mystery ranch, but if I had to carry 100lbs for 10 miles, I'd take the eberlestock
