Short barrel muzzleloader

Mike at Hells canyon uses brux sleeves for his barrels. I ordered it for a 20". I believe the barrels can be cut to whatever length you want.

Stock upgrade! Next scope mounting, then once weather breaks some range time then off to get cerakoted

Still waiting on weather to break, but cerakote is done. Was surprised with a mutted copper tone that goes great with the stock. Scope may sit a little higher than I want but i want to add scope caps, so we will see!

First range session

IMR 4198

65 grains. 2480 fps
66 grains. 2504 fps
67 grains. 2531 fps
68 grains. 2572 fps
69 grains. 2612 fps
70 grains. 2630 fps

That's all the higher charge I brought

Will follow up with consistency and accuracy later on.

I'm running a 17" barrel suppressed with a 275 grain bullet, 4227 with a large rifle primers and DI modules. Build by Hankins Custom Rifles. Bullets running 2,450 fps.
Do you feel the shorter barrel has more recoil than a longer smokeless barrel. I have a 26 inch without a brake and kicks pretty bad

Absolutely! My 28" with a break is a dream to shoot... 18" with a brake a bit spicy.... experimenting with some new brake designs to see if I can tame it, next will be suppressor and possible a brake on the end of that, seeing them come out with end cap for suppressor that have brakes built in them.

Scope moved in ring even tourqed to specs.

Settled on 70 grains no more speed just more kick.... still not bad 300 grain at average 2,600 fps with 18" barrel

American Rifle Company M10 rings go on sale July 1st, guarantee they won't slip again.

I'm running NF on my 17" SML. Never an issue. If it's a 30mm tube I may have a set I'm can part with.
