Shooting Setup with Pack & Trekking Poles

As a backpack hunter, I'm always carrying trekking poles and my pack. Depending on the hunt, I may or may not be carrying a tripod. And depending on the country I'm in, I often can't find a good spot to get prone for shot opportunities. For those reasons, I often find myself needing to shooting from a kneeling or sitting position and wanted to share my favorite shooting support setup for those situations.



Obviously there are a lot of ways to build positions in the field, but if you backpack hunt in the mountains, I'd be sure to give this setup a try.

But I would control the yoke of the stix with the weak hand, rather than the forend. Sometimes stixs can move.....

Yes you can just use the straps, but this works better and much less slop.
