Looking for a hunting scope for my 300rum.

I prefer sfp, I like a bottom end in the 2.5-5 range and the upper end around 20-30. Moa
Prefer lighter weight around 20ish oz but I'm not opposed to heavier around 30 for better glass. Also like bdc style reticles with illumination, but i dial---- hard part is fitting my budget. I need under $1k, but would prefer in the $6-800 range if possible. Wish I could go higher for better glass but can't at this time as I'm changing jobs and have some uncertainty comming my way for a while.

Was considering the optika5 4-20 rd, or the optika6 4.5-27 illuminated bdc.

I'm open for other suggestions or labor day deals ....let me know what your past experience is.

Thanks

cohunt,

For your request I would recommend a Bushnell 6500 4 1/2-30X50 I have three and all three have better glass than the four Swarovski z5 5-25X52 I bought. The 6500 weighs 22 ounces. If you could afford one, a March 2 1/2-25X52 comes in at 24 ounces and has barely better glass than the 6500s. One time only the March windage didn't move the correct amount. None of the 6500 have ever done that.

As soon as I can afford it, the 7-.338 RUMLN's March 2 1/2-25X will be moved to the 8mmCoyle and the 6500 on it will go on the .375-8mm Rem Mag. The 7-.338 will get a March 5-50X56. They weigh 30 oz.

Leupold VX-3HD 2.5-8x36mm ... I think about $500 actually a quite good hunting scope. Cheers

Rich- the Bushnell 6500 is discontinued, wouldn't mind looking through one but probably a long shot.

436- Vx 2.5-8 is no where near what I'm looking for
