Scope recommendation??????

I guess it would kind of depend how close you want to shoot. How many min. rail you will need to get your optic/cartridge combination to your desired target distance. That will dictate how much adjustment will have to be in the optic you are shopping for.........Happy Shooting

Go up another 500-1000$ and buy used.
It will put you in the top tier of glass. I would look at a PM-II if it were me.

Is the PM 2 better than the ATACR? If so how?
 
If you are shooting to 2500 with that beast you dont have to get too crazy with all the optics as far as going way over your budget.
On my 338 snipetac I can direct dial to 2400( I say this distance cause I have been there and shot it, not just played with numbers) with my NXS on a 20 moa cant base. I would watch for a used atacr on the forums that come up now and then for 2100 match it up with a 20 to 30 moa base and shoot that for a while. Depending on your ballistics and altitude your situation will dictate, but if you dont plan to go further for a while that will work.

There are a lot of good options but it's hard to beat the Vortex Gen II Razor 4.5-27x56 MRAD mounted on a 50 moa rail. This should give you plenty of travel your looking for. This scope mounted on a 80 moa rail has done well in the 2 mile stuff in the past.
