Scope not tracking or something else?

I just thought of something, I was using a new rear bag while shooting. Looking back I'm not so sure it would have been stable/supportive under recoil. Any experience with the butt of a rifle dropping during recoil causing high POI ?
Yes, It's called a lack of following through.

I had ranged a tree/bush that was on the backside of the berm I was shooting at but appeared to be on top. Lesson learned
I suppose that falls under the "garbage in, garbage out" diagnosis.

Most of us have been there.

I once switched a buddy's Leica rangefinder from 'yards' to 'meters'… just because I thought it'd be funny. After about half a dozen shots, homeboy was ready to pull his freaking hair out, and I was dying laughing.

I just wanted to follow up and say thank you to all who took time to give me ideas or advice. In the end it was my own ignorance that bit me. I went back yesterday and setup a target at the same spot. It was only 550 yards and not 625.

One way to prevent this is to plant your target, then range back to where you are shooting. Park your truck at the shooting line for example, then range to it.

In Colorado I range back to my house because that is where I am shooting from.
