Hello all I have a buddy that has one and I wanted to buy one but he tells me his won't hold zero with different brand scopes and the all some like quality scopes
1 leupold vx6
2 nightforce shv
3 nightforce ns
He said it's because the bolt is heavy and causes a lot of recoil and that some scope companies which I won't name will not warranty a scope of it's mounted on such rifle
I wanting to still buy one but with that said is open sights the only way to run this rifle

Pretty sure Nightforce will warranty against any 308. I have a ultralight 340 Wby and I know for a fact, no 308 has the recoil it has (maybe a full auto one, but you wouldn't sit behind a scope on a full auto 308 anyway) and I have had Leupold VX3, Swaro and Zeiss on it and it has shot sub 1/2moa with all of them for dozens/hundreds of rounds. I also have an M1A-A1 with just a top line Burris on it and have no problems and M1As have heavy bolts too. Just my 2 cents, but my guess is the mounting is the problem, not the scope.

I never said nightforce wouldnt warranty my scope I said I would leave the names of the brands out that won't

just seems strange his gun will lose zero after a range session with the three above scopes they are all trusted scopes
