My brother has got a Savage 112 BVSS in .223. It's their HEAVY varmint rifle with a stout 26" fluted SS barrel. I looked on-line to see what the twist rate was and it looks like it should be a 9" twist. However, I checked it twice using a tight batch/jag and cleaning rod and come up with 1 full revolution in 8.5", exactly. Has anyone seen this before? I doubt they intentionally make an 8.5" twist.
