This is my Remington XP-100 7mm RSAUM.

Bartlein barrel at 17.5" long, #4 contour.
McMillan stock
Leupold VX5HD 3x-15x-44mm Wind Plex scope.

Built by Jon Beanland. Very accurate and one of my favorite cartridges and guns.

The 7mm RSAUM is a cartridge that in my opinion is about as good as it gets. Mine has been easy to load for, it's very efficient, I've shot some 1/4 moa groups, tho most are typically 1/2 moa.

I get 2850 fps with a Berger 168 VLDH bullet from my 17.5" barrel.

This 7mm. RSAUM should be more mainstream than it is.

Here is my 7 saum, I put it together myself. I have a few other rifles with the fancy smanshy stocks and like them all. But I really like the look of the old school hunting rifle and I love carbon barrels. Well this is what that looks like. Unfortunately I didn't harvest a critter with it, it it's easily half moa to 600 yards. That's as far as I've run it. I'll go to 1000 this winter.

I have to stop looking at these SAUM threads... there is a 7 or 25 SAUM build calling my name....
Maybe hard on barrels, but I really like the idea of a 25 SAUM. With the 135 hybrid, it has awesome ballistics. Plus I have a Bartlein .257 5R 7.75:1 M24 gathering dust.

I definitely like the ballistics of the 25 with the 135s. My ignorant self found a deal on a new action and bought a standard bolt face before I thought it out lol. So now I will prob be buying an xm action and getting a prefit spun up after I finish the two builds Im in the middle of and neglect the third in the corner 😂

Luke @ Arrowhead rifles built me this 7saum few years ago. Kelby nanook action, Mcmillan stock, preferred carbon barrel. Shoot 180vld 2910 with 63g H1000 lights out.
No need for 7prc here.

Here's my 6.5 SAUM although it is an improved version.

  • Pierce SkeleTi short action
  • 21" HCA 7.5 twist barrel
  • AG Composites Visigoth
  • Hawkins Hunter DBM
  • Trigger Tech Diamond flat trigger 1.5#
  • ARC Rings
  • Vortex Razor LHT 4.5-22 MIL
8# 1oz finished weight.

130 Terminal Ascent @ 3250, .3" average

144LRHT @ 3150, .26" average.

The SkeleTi action is ridiculously light and also smooth for a TI action, if I were to build it again I would use the upcoming BAT VESPER action and the UM DBM that allows seating to 3.150".

Pictures are showing it wearing a Leupold MK5. I was able to drop 8# + oz by swapping the Vortex Razor LHT. durability and repeatability TBD with the Vortex.

I also have a C6 barrel and custom reamer to chamber up a 300 SAUM Imp barrel to swap as needed.

Built by Manzella Precision in Central MT. He builds a great gun and awesome guy to deal with. Gun shoots well under 1/2 in. These were a couple of the very 1st groups I shot during load development. Gun is 6 lbs bare

Benchmark 22" carbon barrel

Rifle has consistently thrown down 1/3moa groups from 100yds to 600yds, and being a saum a good load is like finding the east button. Currently running a 180 berger and h4350 powder at 2750fps. Going to use n565 and see if I can get another 100fps out of it this off season. The current load is boringly accurate though.

Broke it in this season with a black bear and a blacktail buck. 486yds and 60yd shots.
