SAUM’s Share yours from Hunting or Comp. Pics Heavy !!

Recoil is about the same with the heavies in the 6.5 given similar rifle weight. What I like the most of the 7 SAUM is ability to shoot the heavy 175-180 class bullets. Within the distance you specified I'm not sure the critter could tell the difference.
On the other hand, that 6.5 feels lonely and needs a bigger brother next to it 🤣
Don't forget the 195's!

I bought my first 6.5 saum in 2014 I've definitely made the best shots of my life on animals with this rifle. The coyote I'm holding in the picture was 1008 yards. I can't even count how many coyotes I've killed from 200-900 yards with it. The bucks weren't super far 503-689 yards all one shot kills hitting right where I wanted to. I built another 6.5saum and 7saum this year but haven't hunted with them yet.

My two SAUMs…..

Top is a Gunwerks Magnus in 7 SAUM 20"wearing a Nomad Ti suppressor and a NX8 2-20 MilC. Have a 143 hammer hunter load over h4350, and a 175 EH and 180 ELDM load over h4831sc that are not screaming fast but all consistent fun.

Bottom is a 6.5 SAUM Defiance Deviant GA hunter, EH1, Proof 24", Bix, with a Tangent 315m for the glass and a TBAC ultra 7 out front. Pet load is a Berger 140 EH at 3050 with h1000. Also have a 124 Hammer Hunter load with h1000.
