Custom rifle build by HCR in 2008 on a Sako L61R action chambered in 280 Ackley Improved. Specs on the rifle: Hart 24" SS Barrel #3 Contour, 1:9 twist, McMillian Hunters Edge Ultralight Stock, action and barrel cerakoted black. Put 360 rounds down the tube. In 2018 I decided to send it back to HCR and have the barrel set back and re-chambered in 280 Ackley (SAAMI spec dimensions). HCR inspected the barrel, looked good and commented no signs of wear and plenty of life.
Did barrel break in procedure, 1 shot and clean for first 10 rounds, then 3 shots and clean till 22 rounds total, started some load development but I didn't complete. The newly chambered barrel has 84 rounds down range. The rifle scoped w/ Leupold VX3LR 6.5-20X50 in Talley Rings weighs 8.8lbs. Originally the rifle was consistently just under .75MOA with 140 Bergers at 3157 fps (2 in same hole almost always and the 3rd just outside).
