Rutumbo replacement

No one Ive seen has reported any experience good or bad with LRT in temp. But it is not claimed by Ramshot to be temp insensitive.

If you develop a load in moderate weather, my bet is it will differ some at 90 plus and at 30 minus.

Best to be cautious unless someone here can confirm actual experience.

Id also recommend IMR Enduron 8133 which is temp. insensitive
like Retumbo. Very close on burn rates too.

N570 may not be as temp insensitive as 8133. Both N568 and N565 are supposed to be temp insensitive though.

Another option that is very close in burn rate to the RETUMBO you are familiar with would be Norma 217. Nosler Data lists starting loads of RETUMBO starting at 90.0g and max at 94.0g with 300g bullets. Norma 217 starting at 88.0g and 92.0 as a max.

Are you finding any Norma powders anywhere this last year?

I haven't seen any anywhere online but maybe some LGS has it?

Do you know how that handles the temp changes?
I tend to not go to the range when It's above 90 and much below zero, I have not noticed a significant change on steel out to 600 yards within normal montana temps. I did some gopher shooting this summer when it was over 85 using ramshot hunter and had no issues. I've gotten frostbite back in my logging days so when I hunt for enjoyment and meat I don't pursue the temperature extremes
