I have a Ruger M77 Hawkeye in .338 win mag and I am getting ready to purchase a Leupold Mark 4 LR/T 6.5-20x50 M1. I understand that since it has a 30mm tube that I will probably have to get new scope rings. One of my friends has a remmy 700 and has a picatinny rail for a base with quick disconnect rings. I really like his set up. Can anyone recommend a top of the line set up for me? Thank you for the help

Good luck!

Feenix....I see you have an old skeleton-stock 77.....I have 2 of them sitting around in the safe. Those are the only Ruger rifles I'll own, other than a #1. Mine are in 7mm RemMag and 7mm-08.

Thank you feenix. Will I be able to use the quick disconnect style rings with this? If so, I imagine they have to be weaver or Burris? Are those bases and rings good quality? Thanks again

Thank you feenix. Will I be able to use the quick disconnect style rings with this? If so, I imagine they have to be weaver or Burris? My best WAG is yes, as long as it is designed to fit weaver type slot (as supposed to picatinny).

Are those bases and rings good quality? For me yes, the base and the Burris signature zee rings (with plastic inserts) have held up 200+ rounds of near max loads with 225 grainers without any problems.

You're welcome and good luck!
