I need to put a 30mm scope on an M77 mk2 338 win mag. What are the best options/best bang for the buck?

I saw a rail system which I like the idea of, but it said 338 win mag and larger is a no go.

Thoughts, experiences?
Thanks
Harley

I too have a Ruger M77 MKII in .338 WM. Are you referring to the Weig-a-tinny (https://www.jackweigand.com/Ruger-M77-MKII-Rifle-Scope-Mounts-No-Drill.html)? I already have one on my Ruger M77 MKII in 7MM SAUM and considering one for the .338 WM, but I might have my gunsmith drill/tap it onto it or keep the bullet weight (250) x velocity (2800) under 700,000. IIRC, my current load is 225 at 2800 FPS = 630,000.

Another option is Burris makes a two-piece Ruger-Weaver base adaptor (https://www.burrisoptics.com/mounting-systems/mounts-and-bases/ruger-to-weaver-base-adaptor). I have this on my rifle, but I cannot upload pictures because of the annoying error that keeps popping.

Yes, that is the rail I was looking at. I am wondering if the rating is recoil based. I do plan to brake and or suppress this rifle when shooting. I want something tough and durable though so I was trying to find something that would work with Ruger attachment points but was as reliable as I can get.

I have Ring of Alaska on another rifle and like them, but $165 is some decent coin if the ruger stuff is just as strong.

I believe it is recoil based. Mine already has a MB and felt recoil is similar to .308 Win.

I put a rail system on our 77 MKII .204 Target Grey. Then used MPA Scope Mounts.
Looked for it to take picture and tell you the model of the rail, but I can't find the rifle right now. As soon as I find where it is stored I'll post a picture.
We can put most of our scopes on it or NV with ease.
